What is a Forest School?
What is Forest Schools? Forest Schools is a unique way of building independence, self-esteem and a positive attitude towards learning in children and young people as they explore and experience the natural world for themselves. A combination of freedom and responsibility is beneficial to children with little confidence or challenging behaviour. Valuable life skills are learnt - communication, team working and responsibility.Forest Schools is a long term sustainable way of learning. It celebrates each individual child talents and is a unique way of building independence, self-esteem and a positive attitude towards learning.
If channelled correctly Forest Shcools will provide invaluable resources for children to actively discover our outdoors whilst providing them with clean green fun and allowing educational programmes to be delivered in a holistic way.

Please note that this an introductory course, and does not qualify you to run Forest School.
This training is aims at those already assisting at a forest school and would like to have an assistant qualification.
This course covers four Units of Study at Level 2 and looks in more depth at practical skills, using the woodland as a sustainable resource and the theoretical side of planning for learning and play at Forest School. These Units are:

The qualification you need if you want to deliver Programs of Forest School sessions. Sessions.
The training comprises seven days of training with tutor contact time. These days are a mixture of practical and classroom based study. Students then have nine months to complete a portfolio of work which is expected to take approximately 120 hours of self-directed study.
The Forest School Level 3 Leader qualification comprises five units of study. (14 credits)
Criteria:
Course length: 9 months.
We strongly recommend that you hold a relevant First Aid Qualification.

A chance to revisit the skills you learned on your Forest School training Course.
Spend the day with us and brush up on your knowledge of working with tools safely, cooking with groups and making simple green wood projects.
£60 per person
This course has been designed with the Forest School Leader in mind. It offers the chance to explore more advanced tool use and green wood working techniques. Time will be spent revisiting the camp fire. We will look at ways fire can be started using natural tinders and variety of cooking methods will also be explored.

Forest School Sessions
Get Out of the Classroom can provide you with Forest School Sessions either within your school or within a local woodland near you. All our sessions are led by a fully qualified Forest School Leader, CRB checked and with relevant First Aid qualifications. All Forest School sessions will be resourced, Session planed and Risk assessed. Session start from as little has £100 please contact us for further details.
Wild woodland Parties
Fancy throwing a party with a difference? We can deliver themed woodland parties for your children to celebrate their special days. Examples Pirates, wizards and Witches, Fairies, teddies and much more, all our parties are tailored to suit and can include campfire cooking and shelter building. Family Bush craft Days
